El Toro

El Toro El Toro

Yet another pinball from the Benicia scrap-yard, this machine was my first foray into repairing Bally machines. It is a bull fighter theme with interesting graphics, notably the “Formica” countertop playfield as Jem calls it, and the “burlap bag” motif plastics. At first, I thought it was somewhat to simplistic aesthetically, and then it kind of grew on me. It is a simple spot the letters game with a special and extra ball feature. 3 mushroom bumpers lite up a right side lane for rollovers with increased points. Lighting up E L T O R O turns on the special rollover and lites the top center lane for extra ball. It is a lot harder than it looks and many people avoid this machine out of frustration.

Produced by Bally, 1972. 1 players. 6 out of 10 on the Play-O-Meter
