My 5th purchase, I saw this one on ebay and got it for $86! In Las Vegas…Road Trip! Got my friend to comp a room at the Rio, won $200 bucks on slots and got a $190 speeding ticket heading back…. They just won’t let you leave Nevada without paying.A tennis themed game based on the Bobby Riggs/Billie Jean King “Battle of the Sexes” which Riggs lost. On the backglass, all the woman are upset and the men cheering as the male tennis player spikes the ball past the beautiful blond (no likeness to B J K), but on the playfield, the woman is smacking the ball back, returning the seemingly impossible serve, and thus empowering woman throughout the world. I call this the first Woman’s Lib machine but my friend Mac say’s it’s still all about sex. Regardless, it is one fun game to play. There are 3 lanes at the top, Blue, Yellow and Green. Going thru these lites the corresponding target banks and bumpers for higher score value. Knocking down all the targets lites the top outer lanes alternately for one special. You must knock down all targets again to relite the specials. On one interesting note, this was made towards the end of the EM age, when everything was going Solid State and production costs were determining game design. You will notice that there are no “Kicking Rubber” slingshots on the bottom where they typically are to save money. It still works well even with out the solenoids.
Produced by Gottlieb, 1976. 1 players. 7.5 out of 10 on the Play-O-Meter
High Score 280,990 by Dennis on April 16, 2004
